A Journey
When I was in elementary school, my family of five piled into our medium-sized Explorer and took off for sunny Orlando, Florida. The mission was to make it to spend a couple days experiencing the warm magic of Disney World.
My sister and I were sent to bed early the pervious night because we would have to rise with the bright sun the next morning to begin our journey. All night we lay in our soft beds, unable to sleep due to our increasing anticipation for the upcoming days. When the time had finally come to get ready to leave, we jumped out of our beds, quickly pulled on our clothes, and shoved out beloved stuffed animals into our tiny suitcases.
Our entire family sat in the car for hours. My brother sat in the very back of the car with the portable movie player, watching movies that emitted sounds of angry men with guns. my sister and I were trying our best to not constantly ask "Are we there yet?!" We made it to Orlando long after the sun had retired from the sky.
As we were nearing the neighborhood were were going to stay in was, my parents began turning the lights inside the car on and off. We couldn't find the house in the darkness of the night. By this time, all three of us kids were wide away with excitement and anticipation. We eventually found the house and after begging out parents to allow us to swim in the outdoor pool at night, we al settled into bed and had the greatest vacation of our lives.
